Combination Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Open hood.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3. Remove the tilt steering column lever.
4. Remove the tachometer mounting screws and remove tachometer.

5. Remove both the upper and lower shrouds from the steering column.
6. Remove the lower fixed column shroud.
7. Loosen the steering column upper bracket nuts. Do not remove the nuts.

8. Move the upper fixed column shroud to gain access to the rear of the multi-function switch.
9. Remove the multi-function switch tamper proof mounting screws (tamper proof Torx Bit TTXR20B2 or equivalent).
10. Gently pull the switch away from the column. Loosen the connector screw. The screw will remain in the connector.
11. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the multi-function switch.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect the wire harness connector to the multi-function switch.
2. Tighten the connector screw. Tighten to 2 Nm (17 In. Lbs.).
3. Position the switch in place and install the tamper proof mounting screws (tamper proof Torx Bit TTXR20B2 or equivalent is required). Tighten to 2 Nm (17 In. Lbs.).
4. Reinstall the upper and lower fixed column shrouds. Tighten to 0.3 to 0.8 Nm (3 to 7 In. Lbs.).
5. Reinstall the tachometer mounting screws. Tighten to 3.7 Nm (33 In. Lbs.).
6. Reinstall the steering column tilt lever.
7. Connect the battery negative cable.
