Transmission Cooler Fan Relay

TRANSMISSION COOLER FAN RELAY
DESCRIPTION

The single speed transmission fan is controlled by using a relay. The relay is located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC). A label on the inside of the PDC cover indicates the location of each relay and fuse. Refer to the appropriate wiring information. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, proper wire and connector repair procedures, details of wire harness routing and retention, connector pin-out information and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds.

OPERATION
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the operation of relay depending on transmission fluid temperature. When fan operation conditions are met, the PCM provides a ground to the control circuit of the relay.
