Radiator Fan Relay

DESCRIPTION

The two speed radiator fan is controlled by using a low speed and a high speed relay. The relays are located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC). A label on the inside of the PDC cover indicates the location of each relay and fuse. Refer to the appropriate wiring information. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, proper wire and connector repair procedures, details of wire harness routing and retention, connector pin-out information and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds.

OPERATION
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the operation of the relays depending on engine coolant temperature and/or air conditioning operation. The PCM controls radiator fan speed by grounding the control circuit of either the low or the high speed fan relay. When the PCM grounds the control circuit of the relay, the contacts close and the battery provides power to the radiator fan electric motor. For radiator fan on/off and low/high speed operation condition specifications. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS.
