CENTER CONSOLE

REMOVAL

NOTE: Unlatch and open convertible top to ease in removal.

1. Position shifter in the Auto Stick Position.
2. Remove shifter set screw from shifter handle.
3. With a trim stick, using care pry off the shift bezel. To avoid breakage, shifter bezel tabs should not be forced or twisted. Start removal at right side forward tab.
4. Disconnect transmission range indicator wire connector. Remove transmission range indicator shifter bezel from vehicle.

5. Remove screw from the front of the center console underneath shifter bezel (Fig. 1).
6. Open console bin lid and remove front and rear screws (four).
7. Position emergency brake in full up position.
8. Remove armrest and console bin from vehicle.

NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the cup holder from the console during this procedure. Cup holder hole may become damaged and will not properly retain if cup holder is removed and inserted repeatedly.

9. Carefully remove shifter boot over emergency brake.
10. Remove floor console from vehicle.

NOTE: The console is attached to the tunnel brackets by metal j-nuts (Replace J-Nuts only if loose). (Fig. 2).

INSTALLATION

1. Position floor console in vehicle.

NOTE: Position emergency brake in the full up position.

2. Place the center console to fit over the shifter and emergency brake boot.
3. Seat metal locating pin on the front inside area of the console into the forward hole in front bracket.

NOTE: Ensure all 5 center console metal j-nuts are securely in place on the tunnel brackets.

4. Position storage bin in console.
5. Place the locating tab at the rear of the storage bin lid under the locating slot on the storage bin (Fig. 1).
6. Install rear fasteners attaching storage bin lid to console.
7. Install front fasteners attaching storage bin to console. Ensure that the heat insulator pad still surrounds the cupholder before installing the shifter bezel.
8. Connect the transmission range indicator wire connector.
9. Install transmission range indicator bezel.
10. Install shifter knob.
