DECK LID HINGE

REMOVAL

1. Open deck lid.
2. Mark outline of hinge on deck lid to aid in installation.
3. Place suitable padding to cover deck lid in order to protect the paint finish.
4. Position a suitable wooden dowel or other prop rod to support deck lid.
5. Pull out caps at each end of the gas support cylinder.
6. Disengage gas prop from deck lid.
7. Disengage gas prop from body bracket by carefully prying cylinder from ball stud on the bracket.
8. With the aid of a helper, remove the fasteners attaching deck lid hinge to deck lid.
9. Remove bolts attaching deck lid hinge to body.
10. Remove deck lid hinge from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Position deck lid hinge to vehicle.
2. Loosely install bolts attaching deck lid hinge to body.
3. Loosely install bolts attaching deck lid hinge to deck lid.
4. Align the deck lid hinge to the marks previously made during removal and tighten all fasteners.
5. Install gas prop to the body bracket and deck lid inner.
6. Install caps at each end of the gas support cylinders.
7. Verify fit of deck lid to deck panel and adjust as necessary.
