Front Door Limiter: Service and Repair

CHECK STRAP

REMOVAL

1. Roll door glass to full closed position.
2. Remove door trim panel.
3. Remove watershield as necessary to gain access to the door check strap.
4. Remove fasteners attaching door check strap to cowl panel.

5. Remove fasteners attaching check strap to door (Fig. 1).
6. Remove check strap from door through opening.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: The check strap will be labeled either left or right and has a directional arrow on housing to indicate proper orientation. Part may damage if installed incorrectly.

1. Position check strap to door through access hole.
2. Loosely attach fasteners to check strap to door.
3. Install fasteners attaching check strap to cowl panel.
4. Tighten fasteners attaching check strap to door. Tighten to 12 N.m (105 in.lbs.) torque.
5. Install watershield and door trim panel.
6. Cycle door to verify proper operation.
