Front Door Latch: Service and Repair

DOOR LATCH

REMOVAL

1. Remove front door trim panel.
2. Roll door glass up.
3. Remove watershield as necessary.
4. Disconnect wire connector from power door lock motor.
5. Disconnect all linkages.
6. Remove screws attaching door latch to door end frame .
7. Remove door latch from door.

INSTALLATION

1. Place door latch in position on door end frame.
2. Install screws attaching door latch to door end frame. Tighten to 11 N.m (95 in.lbs.) torque.
3. Engage all linkages.
4. Connect wire connector into power door lock motor.
5. Loosen set screw.
6. Actuate door handle a few times and cycle.
7. Tighten set screw.
8. Verify door latch and power door lock operation.
9. Install watershield.
10. Install front door trim panel.
