Body panels should fit square in opening. Gaps are always stacked from the rear of the vehicle forward. This is because the quarter panels are usually stationary (nonadjustable). Using the Body Gap and Flush Measurement Chart, measure the body gaps from the rear forward. Adjustment should be performed the same way. The deck lid may be adjusted forward and rearward, side to side, and up and down (Fig. 2). The Door is adjustable forward and rearward, up and down, and in and out (Fig. 3). After checking/adjusting the gaps, you should check the panel to panel flushness. The flushness should be stacked from front to rear. The front panels should be even or slightly outward of the panel to its rear. With the body panels stacked this way, the wind will flow past adjacent panels. If the panels are stacked with the next rearward panel slightly outward, a wind noise and for water leak may develop.
