Radiator Cooling Fan Temperature Sensor / Switch: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove temperature switch from radiator.

Engine Coolant Temperature Switch Test.:

2. Immerse switch in warm water and connect ohmmeter as shown.
3. Check for continuity as temperature of water changes.
4. On 1.8L engines, with water temperature between 178 - 190 °F, continuity should exist between terminals of switch. With water temperature of 171 °F or less, continuity should not exist.
