1. Remove temperature switch from radiator.
2. Immerse switch in warm water and connect ohmmeter as shown.
3. Check for continuity as temperature of water changes.
4. On 1.5L engine, with water temperature between 180-190°F, continuity should exist between terminals of switch. With water temperature of 172°F or less, continuity should not exist.
5. On 1.8L engine, with water temperature between 178-190°F, continuity should exist between terminals of switch. With water temperature of 171°F or less, continuity should not exist.
