SAFETY RECALL -- HEADLAMP WIRING HARNESS

Dear Chrysler Motors Vehicle Owner:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Chrysler Motors has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 1990 model Plymouth Laser cars. The condition may cause failure of a headlamp to light, possibly resulting in poor visibility for night driving and the potential for an accident.

Your car, whose Vehicle Identification Number is shown on the enclosed form, is one of the affected vehicles. For this reason we ask that you arrange for service to correct the condition without delay. The service and parts as described in this letter will be provided free of charge.

The condition is caused by excessive stress to the electrical wires near the headlamp wiring connector. To relieve the stress and ensure continued proper headlamp operation, an electrical jumper cable must be installed between this connector and the headlamps.

The recall work will take about one hour to complete. However, additional time may be required depending on how service appointments are scheduled and processed. To obtain this free service:

^ Contact your dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. We ask that you call the dealer who sold you the car. However, if necessary, the service can be performed by any Chrysler-Plymouth dealer.

^ Take the enclosed Owner Recall Notification Form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form identifies the vehicle and recall for which service is required.

If you have any problem obtaining the needed service, please contact the Chrysler Zone Service Office in your area. (it is listed under "Service Assistance" in your Operator's Manual.) A Zone representative will arrange for prompt servicing of your car.

We regret any inconvenience which this action may cause you. However, we believe that you understand our concern for motor vehicle safety, and for your continued satisfaction with our products. If your dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect without charge within a reasonable time, you may submit a written complaint to the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Washington, D.C. 20590, or call the Toll Free Number 1-800-424-9393.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
