This bulletin is issued to revise the 1987 Colt Service Manual, Volume 1, publication #81-270-7011, page 14-22.


The paragraph explaining how the electric choke relay works has been revised. Glue, tape, or staple the revised paragraph from the attached sheet over the original paragraph on page 14-22. The revised paragraph is also shown below for your information.


ELECTRIC CHOKE RELAY

The electric choke relay is normally closed (on) and it opens when its coil is energized. During engine cranking, the ECU turns on the power transistor to energize the electric choke relay coil. This prevents heating of the electric choke heater, improving engine starting.
