California models are equipped with a high altitude compensator, which consists of an additional bleed air passage and an air passage from the carburetor to the high altitude compensator, Fig. 33.

Additional bleed air is supplied to the primary well through a control valve which is controlled by an aneroid bellows in response to changing atmospheric conditions.
