Initial Inspection - Electronic Cluster 1.
Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
	 2.
Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART 3.
If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
	 4.
Verify the following systems are working correctly:
	 -
	 Charging.
	 -
	 Fuel.
	 -
	 Cooling.
	 -
	 Safety belt warning chime (LCM).
	 -
	 Turn signals.
	 -
	 Headlamps.
	 -
	 Air Suspension.
	 -
	 Anti-lock Brake System
(ABS) /Traction Control.
NOTE: Carry out the instrument cluster self-test prior to carrying out any pinpoint test.
	 5.
	 Press E/M and
	 6. If the instrument cluster displays: - only the top and bottom two coolant temperature gauge display bars, diagnose the coolant temperature gauge system. - only the top and bottom two fuel gauge display bars, diagnose the fuel gauge system. - only the bottom engine temperature gauge display bar, diagnose the engine temperature gauge system. - CS or CO, diagnose the fuel level sender input circuitry - Error in the odometer display, diagnose the speedometer/odometer circuitry. 7. If the concern remains after the instrument cluster self-test, connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel and select the vehicle to be tested from the scan tool menu. If the scan tool does not communicate with the vehicle: - check that the program card is properly installed. - check the connections to the vehicle. - check the ignition switch position. 8. If the scan tool still does not communicate with the vehicle, refer to the scan tool manual. 9. Carry out the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the scan tool responds with: - CKT9l4, CKT915 or CKT7O = ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, refer to Module Communications Network (Information Bus). - NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for Lighting Control Module (LCM) , go to Pinpoint Test A. Test A: No Communication With the Lighting Control Module - SYSTEM PASSED, retrieve and record the continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) , erase the continuous DTCs and carry out self-test diagnostics for the LCM. 10. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the LCM Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnostics. Trouble Code Diagnostic Charts - Electronic Cluster 11. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Diagnosis By Symptom - Electronic Cluster
