Impact Sensor: Description and Operation

The Electronic Crash Sensor (ECS) module incorporates an internal safing sensor. Proper mounting of the ECS and bracket assembly is critical to the function and performance of the air bag system. The ECS is non-serviceable and must be replaced as a unit in the event of failure and after every air bag deployment.
