Bench Torque Test
Prior to installation of the locking differential into vehicle, perform a bench torque test.1. Using Traction-Lok Torque Tool 205-013 (T59L-4204-A), check the torque required to rotate one differential side gear while the other is held stationary.
2. If torque reading is less than 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) perform clutch pack preload adjustment as described.
NOTE: The initial breakaway torque should be no less than 27 Nm (23 ft. lbs.). The rotating torque required to keep the differential side gear turning with new differential clutch packs may fluctuate.
