Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments
Transmission Range Switch and Related Components:
1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Remove the clip securing the shift cable and bracket to the manual control shift outer lever.
3. Remove the manual control shift outer lever from the shift cable and bracket.
4. Turn the manual control shift outer lever to the NEUTRAL position.
5. Loosen the Transmission Range (TR) switch bolts.
6. Remove the screw from the access hole on the TR switch.
Transmission Range Switch Adjustment:
7. Align the indentation inside the TR switch with the access hole by inserting a 2.0 mm (5/64 in) OD pin through the access hole.
NOTE: A 2.0 mm (5/64 in) drill bit shank may be substituted for the pin.
8. Tighten the TR switch bolts to 8-11 Nm (69-95 lb in). Remove the pin.
9. Install the screw in the access hole on the TR switch.
TR Switch Resistance Values:
10. Recheck the resistance of the TR switch.
11. If the resistance is incorrect, replace the TR switch.
12. Position the shift cable and bracket to the manual control shift outer lever.
13. Install the clip.
14. Install air cleaner outlet tube.
