Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Crankshaft Position Sensor (AT Only):
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove the RH front fender splash shield.
4. Disconnect Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove retaining bolts and remove CKP sensor.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse removal procedure.
2. Tighten to 5-7 Nm (40-61 lb in).
