Brake Signal: Adjustments

BRAKE PEDAL FREE HEIGHT MEASUREMENTS
1. Measure the distance from the center of the brake pedal pad to the bulkhead. If the distance measures 193-196 mm (7.60-7.72 in) the brake pedal height is within specification. If the brake pedal height is not within specification, proceed to step 2.
2. Disconnect the Brake On/Off (BOO) switch electrical connector.
3. Loosen the BOO switch locknut and turn the BOO switch until it does not contact the brake pedal.
4. Loosen the locknut and turn the master cylinder push rod fork end bracket until the brake pedal height is within specification.
5. Turn the BOO switch until it contacts the brake pedal, then turn it an additional half turn.
6. Tighten the BOO switch locknut to 14-17 Nm (10-13 lb ft).
7. Tighten the master cylinder push rod fork end bracket locknut securely.
8. Connect the BOO switch electrical connector.
9. Verify the operation of the brake system and stoplamps.
