DT - Testing Notes

DESCRIPTION
The Power Steering Pressure (PSP) sensor detects an increase in hydraulic pressure indicating a load to the engine at idle. The sensor relays this information to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), which increases idle speed to prevent engine stall during parking maneuvers.

REMEMBER
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- PSP sensor

- Harness circuits, PSP signal, SIG RTN, VREF

- PCM

NOTE
You should enter this pinpoint test only when you have been directed here.
