Throttle Body: Description and Operation

Throttle Body:

The throttle body is mounted to the intake plenum. The throttle body assembly controls the amount of air taken in by the engine. Air intake is controlled by the Idle Air Control Valve (idle speed), and the accelerator control cable (normal driving conditions). Also attached to the throttle body assembly are the throttle position sensor and the dashpot.
