Tachometer: Description and Operation

The tachometer receives a signal from the ignition coil on gasoline engines. Rpm is indicated by the number of bars lit, with each bar indicating 200 rpm. The tachometer bar graph will read 6,000 rpm for all engine speeds 5,200 rpm and above.
