Component Identification:

Location
The temperature sensor is located at the left rear on the variable intake manifold.

Task
The temperature sensor detects the intake air temperature to allow correction of the ignition angle and injection quantity.

Function
The NTC resistor integrated in the temperature sensor alters its electrical resistance in line with the intake air temperature. The ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) applies a sensor ground and evaluates the resistance corresponding to the intake air temperature.
