GF68.50-P-0003LE Rear Side Roller Blind, Function

GF68.50-P-0003LE Rear Side Roller Blind, Function
- with CODE (297) Roller sun blinds in rear doors

Function requirements, general
^ C. 15R On
^ Variant coding "Rear side roller sun blind present" is activated
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Rear side roller blind normalized
^ For actuation with control point in rear: Child safety lock not active
^ Corresponding side window closed

Circuit status (c.15) is transmitted by the EIS control unit (N73) via the interior CAN.
Up to 5 min. after circuit 15R OFF, the rear side roller blinds can be actuated if the front doors are not yet open.

Rear side roller sun blinds, general

The left and right rear side windows are subdivided into fixed quarter windows and movable side windows. According to this partitioning, each rear side roller sun blind has a vertical roller sun blind at the side window and a horizontal roller sun blind at the quarter window. The side roller blinds on the left rear are driven by the left rear side roller sun blind motor (M24/5), the rear side roller blinds on the right rear are driven by the right rear side roller sun blind motor (M24/6)

The rear side roller blind of each rear side close and open always simultaneously in the automatic mode without intermediate positions.

The function for the rear side roller sun blinds comprises the following partial functions:
^ Function sequence for retracting or extending rear side roller sun blinds
^ Function sequence for position recognition
^ Normalization function sequence
^ Function sequence for excess force limiter
^ Function sequence for lock-up recognition
^ Function sequence for lock-up reversing

Function sequence for retracting or extending rear side roller blind
Possible control points:
- Driver power window outside mirror and trunk lid switch group (S20/1):
- Left rear power window and side window roller sun blind switch (S20/1s3)
- Right rear power window and side window roller sun blind switch (S20/1s4)

- Left rear door power window/roller blind switch group (S21/21):
- Right rear power window and side window roller blind switch (S21/21s1)
- Left rear power window and side window roller blind switch (S21/21s3)

- Right rear door power window/roller blind switch group (S21/22):
- Right rear power window and side window roller blind switch (S21/22s1)
- Left rear power window and side window roller blind switch (S21/22s3)

The power window switches must be actuated beyond the first catch (automatic mode).
Both rear side roller sun blinds can be operated.

The signal from the driver switch group is read in by the left front door control unit (N69/1) via front door LIN and transmitted to the left rear door control unit (N69/3) or right rear door control unit (N69/4).
The signal from the left rear door switch group is read in by the left rear door control unit via the rear door LIN.
Requests for the right rear side roller sun blind motor are transmitted to the right rear door control unit via the interior CAN. The signal from the right rear door switch group is read in by the right rear door control unit via the rear door LIN.
Requests for the left rear side roller sun blind motor are transmitted to the left rear door control unit via the interior CAN.

The left rear side roller sun blind motor is actuated directly by the left rear door control unit.
The right rear side roller sun blind motor is actuated directly by the right rear door control unit.

Function sequence for position recognition
The location counter integrated into the door control unit senses the Hall signals of the corresponding Hall sensor in the rear side roller sun blind motor. Depending on the actuation direction, the Hall signals are increased in the location counter when "opening" and reduced when "closing" the rear side roller sun blinds. The zero position is set by synchronization.

Normalization function sequence
During normalization the upper end position (rear side roller sun blind closed) is set as the "zero point" in the location counter of the corresponding door control unit.
For this purpose it is necessary to close the rear side roller sun blind completely.
The rear side roller sun blind motor is actuated until blockage.

Function sequence for excess force limiter
The excess force limiter is activated when the rear side roller blinds are moved up. If a clamping force of F = 60 N and a force/path rate of 2 to 65 N/mm is recognized within a range of s = 230 to 3 mm (inside opening), the drive is reversed and the corresponding rear side roller sun blind is opened completely.

Function sequence for lock-up recognition
Actuation of the rear side roller sun blind motors is switched off inspite of a present actuation request, if after t = 300 ms no more than two Hall sensor signals are recognized.

Function sequence for lock-up reversing
If the rear side roller blind is in the effective area of the excess force limiter, an emergency function is additionally activated when moving up. This emergency function is triggered when the rear side roller blind is normalized and if a force increase of max. 130 N is present or if the Hall sensor signals change for approx. t = 150 ms.
This leads to reversing and the rear side roller sun blinds are opened completely.
