Check Engine Light On / Engine Shakes at Idle with Fault Codes 0745 and 0749

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the check engine light being on or the engine shakes at idle with the below fault codes, this may be due to a leak in the intake tract. To resolve, Replace the intake manifold seals using the modified aluminum mounting bolts. Refer to WIS document AR09.20-P-1961TMG.

Note:
The aluminum mounting bolts may only be used once!

Fault codes possibly stored:

0745 - Self-adjustment of mixture formation for enriching at idle for the right-hand cylinder bank is above the permissible limit (P2187)

0749 - Self-adjustment of mixture formation for enriching at idle for the left-hand cylinder bank is above the permissible limit (P2189)

The tightening sequence and torque values have changed due to the use of aluminum bolts.

Use the tightening sequence as per Figure 1.

1. Tighten the aluminum bolts to 8 Nm torque.

2. Tighten the aluminum bolts to 10 Nm torque.

3. Turn each bolt to 90° past the 10 Nm torque position.
