Prepare wiring harness of illuminated door sill molding according to figure






1 Wiring harness for illuminated door sill molding
7 Converter
10 3-pin plug connection, converter
11 2-pin connector, lighting strip
N10/2 Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (connect to plug 28)
S17/3 Left front door contact switch
S17/4 Right front door contact switch
W55 Central ground, SAM/rear
br/bl Brown/blue cable, right front door contact
br/gr Brown/gray cable, left front door contact






1 Attach coupling housing and contact spring for connection to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) to wiring harness.
2 Route and attach wiring harness for illuminated door sill molding (1) with branch-off line to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and to the central ground SAM/rear (W55) along the existing lines (see figure on the lower right).
3 Clip in 1-pin coupling in plug position 28 of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
4 Route ground lead to rear central ground SAM (W55) and connect.

5 Install rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
6 Insert 5A fuse into plug position (N10/2f6) of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)










7 Route illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (1) to left B-pillar along left wheelhouse and fasten.
8 Guide the branch-off line with the brown/blue line (br/bl) below the insulating mat to the right door contact switch and attach using felt strips.










9 Track and expose wiring harness with brown/gray line (br/gr) from the left front door contact switch (S17/3) to the bottom of the B-pillar.
10 Connect brown/gray (br/gr) lead of illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (1) with one of the brown/gray (br/gr) leads of left door contact switch using cable terminal connector (see magnified section).
The two brown/gray leads coming from the door contact switch are freely selectable.






11 Connect enclosed converter (7) with 3-pin coupling (10) to the wiring harness of the illuminated door sill molding (1).
12 Expose connecting line with 2-pin coupling (11) for the contact to the illuminated door sill molding (will be contacted later).
13 Tie converter (7) together with excess of illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (1) and insert into cable duct.
14 Repeat steps 8 through 12 for the right door contact switch with the branch-off line of the brown/blue line of the wiring harness of the illuminated door sill molding (1).
