GF32.22-P-4004TXU AIRmatic Level Adjustment, Function

GF32.22-P-4004TXU AIRmatic level adjustment, function
- with CODE (489) Airmatic (semi-active air suspension)
- with CODE (494) USA version

The vehicle is lowered and raised depending on the driving speed and adjustment of the level adjustment switch (N72s18) and comfort and sport switch (N72s25). 4 vehicle level stages are possible:
^ Normal vehicle level
^ Vehicle lever lowered 10 mm "Sport I" (speed-dependent and manually with comfort and sport switch)
^ Vehicle lever lowered 15 mm "Sport II" (only manually with comfort and sport switch)
^ Vehicle lever raised 20 mm (only manually with level adjustment switch)

The switch position operated by the driver also remains stored after "ignition OFF" until it is changed again manually or is canceled due to exceeding a certain speed threshold or time threshold.

Level adjustment switch actuated (range of effect from 0 km/h to 120 km/h)
^ Engine running
^ The vehicle is at normal level N (0 mm).
^ The increased vehicle level C (+20 mm) is adjusted shortly after the switch is operated.

Display in multifunction display (A1p13) of instrument cluster (A1): "Vehicle rising", the LED in the level adjustment switch flashes during the adjustment procedure and illuminates continuously when the higher level has been reached K (+20 mm).

^ At v > 80 km/h for longer than 5 minutes, automatic cancelation of driver's wish for "Increased level" and lowering of vehicle level to normal level N (0 mm).

Display in the multifunction display of the instrument cluster: "Level selection canceled".

^ At v > 120 km/h - driver's request for "Increased level" is canceled and vehicle is lowered automatically (immediately) to lowered level IB (-10 mm).

Display in the multifunction display of the instrument cluster: "Level selection canceled".

^ At v < 60 km/h resetting to normal level N (0 mm).

If the vehicle speed v > 80 km/h is not maintained for longer than 5 minutes or if the vehicle does not exceed v = 120 km/h, the vehicle remains at the "Increased level" until it is lowered to "normal level" again by operating the level adjustment switch.

Level adjustment switch not actuated
^ Engine running
^ The vehicle is at normal level N (0 mm).
^ At v > 110 km/h - automatic lowering of vehicle level to the lowered level SI (-10 mm).
^ At v < 70 km/h resetting to normal level N (0 mm).

Further lowering of the vehicle to the lowered level SII (-15 mm) on (USA) version is only possible manually with the comfort and sport switch.

Comfort and sport switch actuated
^ In the switch position "Sport I" (one LED lights up), the vehicle is immediately lowered to the lowered level SI (-10 mm) and irrespective of the vehicle speed is held at the lowered level SI (-10 mm).

Once the damping program "SportI" is selected the message "AIRMATIC DC Sport 1" appears in the multifunction display for approx. 5 seconds.

^ In the switch position "SportII" (both light emitting diodes light up), the vehicle level is immediately lowered by 15 mm and irrespective of the vehicle speed is held at the lowered level SII (-15 mm).

Once the "SportII" damping program is selected, the message "AIRMATIC DC Sport 2" appears in the multifunction display for approx. 5 seconds.

^ If subsequently switch position "Comfort" (both LEDs Off) is selected, the vehicle level is again raised to normal level provided that the vehicle speed is v < 60 km.

Once the "Comfort" damping program is selected, the message "AIRMATIC DC Comfort" appears in the multifunction display for approx. 5 seconds.
