AR42.10-P-0070DM Remove/Install Front Axle Brake Caliper



Removing And Installing Front Brake Caliper


Shown On Vehicle With CODE (957a) AMG Engineering Package:







DANGER:
- Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid
- Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

1 Remove front wheels
2 Disconnect brake hose (51) first from brake line (5) and then from floating caliper (31)

CAUTION: Seal connections immediately with plugs Brake fluid reservoir must not empty completely.

3 Detach spring (31d) (arrows)
4 Unplug contact sensor (S10/1) from brake pad contact sensor connector (S10/1x1)

CAUTION: See notes on installing contact sensor for brake lining wear indicator

5 Unscrew brake pad contact sensor connector (S10/1x1) from floating caliper (31a)


CAUTION: Installation: Replace micro-encapsulated bolt (31e).

6 Pull covers (31b) off guide pins (31c)
7 Unscrew guide pins (31c)
8 Remove floating caliper (31a) together with the brake pads

NOTE: Installation: Insert inner brake pad into piston of floating caliper. Insert outer brake pad into guide of frame and install floating caliper.

9 Install in the reverse order
10 Bleed brake system
11 Check brake system for leaks
