When the "Lock Vehicle" button is pressed the transmitter key sends a radio and infrared signal to the relevant receivers in the vehicle. These receive the signal and transmit its content via CAN to the EIS[EZS] control module (N73). The EIS[EZS] control module(N73) sends the "Lock" command via CAN to the door control modules and the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2). These then lock the door locks, fuel filler flap and trunk lid.

In addition, the interior switches, i.e. the interior central locking switch (N72/1s6) and the trunk lid release switch (S15/1), are deactivated.

Inserting the transmitter key into the EIS[EZS] control module
switches. The central locking system is then in the same state as after locking using the interior central locking switch (N72/1s6). However, the vehicle can only be unlocked again by opening a door.
