Removing and Installing Oil Lines For Oil Cooler


PRECEDING WORK
Bottom engine compartment panel removed.
Front bumper removed.

OVERVIEW





Screw cap (12) with oil filter element clipped in place:
Unscrew, pull up, screw on so that the engine oil in the filter housing flows off into the sump.
Oil lines (9) and (11) at oil filter housing (1) and bracket (13) of AC compressor:
Unbolt, bolt on.

Installation Note
Top oil line (9):
Install first of all.

O-rings (8):
Replace.
Oil lines (9) and (11 ) at bracket (14) at front of cross member:
Unbolt, bolt on.
Oil lines (9) and (11) of air-to-oil cooler (2):
Unbolt, bolt on (30 Nm); brace with wrench (WAF 27) at hexagon head (15).
Oil lines (11) and (9):
Remove to the front, install.
Leaks:
Check when engine warm.

Note
The oil circulates in the air-to-oil cooler (2) once the thermostat valve in the oil filter housing opens.
Oil level:
Check, adjust to correct level.
