Opening Trunk Lid With Interior Switch, Function

Interlinkage Of Components:

The function of the remote trunk release switch (N72s15) is enabled by the lower control panel control module (N72),
- when the emergency opening feature is activated,
- when the vehicle is unlocked centrally with the remote control key following automatic locking,
- when the vehicle is unlocked centrally with the lock switches ((USA), (J) only) following automatic locking
- by unlocking with the interior switch (CL) (S6/1s2)

The function of the switch is inhibited by the lower control panel control module (N72) when
- the automatic locking function has been actuated or
- the vehicle was unlocked with the interior switch (CL) (S6/1s2) or
- the rollbar/soft top operation control module (N52) has signaled via the CAN interior bus that the soft top is unlocked or the power soft top switch (S84) is actuated.

Actuation of the remote trunk release switch (N72s15) is recognized by the lower control panel control module (N72). If the switch function is enabled, the lower control panel control module (N72) sends the instruction for opening the trunk lid to the PSE control module (combined, A37) via the CAN bus. The PSE control module opens the trunk lid pneumatically as long as the trunk lid lock is not locked by turning the lock cylinder to the 90° position.
