E. Installation of the Handset and Cradle

1. Remove the carpet floor bottom of the lower console compartment.

2. Peel away the smaller section of foam from the underside of the carpeted floor piece (Figure 6).

3. Using the edge of the remaining foam as a template, cut away the carpet section without the foam and remove the perforated square of carpet on the front edge of the piece (Figure 7).

4. Open the upper console compartment and remove the four (4) Phillips screws securing the Tele Aid button false floor to the upper console tray.

5. Remove the Tele Aid button false floor by disconnecting the connector from the back of the button assembly.

6. Using an awl, open the four (4) pre-molded cradle mounting holes (two are holes and two are located in the slots on the underside of the tray) (Figure 8).

Note: Trim away any excess plastic ridges on the tray upper surface.

7. Using a blunt object such as a ratchet handle, push out the knockout at the back of the false floor.

8. Mount the cradle to the false floor using four (4) M4 x 8 screws.

Note: The cradle release buttons should face the front of the console along the Tele Aid buttons (Figure 9).

9. Mount the coil cord to the Tele Aid button side of the cradle by securing the strain relief closest to the main coil to the cradle with a # 8 x 1/2 Phillips sheet metal screw (Figure 9).

10. Route the coil cord through the hole in the back of the false floor and connect the Tele Aid button connector.

11. Reinstall the false floor assembly into the top console compartment and secure it with the four (4) previously removed screws.

12. Attach the battery, connect the coil cord, and install the telephone into the cradle (Figure 10).

13. Carefully cut the two wire ties securing the Tele Aid button cable to the floor of the compartment.

14. Connect the telephone coil cord RJ-45 connector and antenna coupling to the jacks in the floor of the console (Figure 11).

15. Apply a slight downward pressure on the telephone and Tele Aid coil cords and secure them to the front and rear tie-down-points with a new wire tie (Figure 11).

16. Place the non-foam-covered carpet piece referred to in step 3, on the floor of the console covering the cables. Route the cables through the hole in the rear of the carpet piece (Figure 12).

17. Fasten the telephone cable channel to the pre-punched hole in the floor with a # 8 x 3/8 sheet metal screw (Figure 13).

18. Install the foam covered carpet piece onto the floor of the compartment covering the channel mounting screw (Figure 14).
