Testing Battery Capacity (Load Test)
Preliminary work:
Checking state of charge, Check Condition of Battery
Quiescent current retention unit
disconnect, connect.
Battery
disconnect, reconnect. Disconnecting and Connecting Ground Cable At Battery
Battery
remove, install.
Electrolyte density
measure, min. 1.24 kg/dm cu; if electrolyte density <1.24 kg/dm cu, charge battery
NOTE: On vehicles with two batteries both batteries must be removed and tested separately.
Load test at 20 °C
perform.
Capacity/Ah Load current/A
74 230
100 300
Battery minimum voltage
check, specification after 10 seconds approx. 10 V or >10 V.
If specified value is not reached, renew battery.
If specified value is reached, charge battery.
Electrolyte density
measure, specification 1.28 kg/dm cu.
