Cranking Engine Using A Remote Starter Button
NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.
WARNING:
^ Risk of accident caused by car starting off when engine running.
^ Risk of injury from contusions and burns if hand inserted during starting off when engine running.
^ Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off.
^ Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes.
^ Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.
1. Switch off ignition
- Key in steering lock in position 0.
2. Connect compression tester (01) starter button or equivalent remote starter button, as follows:
a. Fold open cover (1) 0f terminal block (X12/3) at the left wheelhouse next to the fuse and relay box
b. Connect clamp (A) of remote starter button to terminal block (X12/3)
c. Remove cover above engine/body plug connection (X26/25) at the front left wheelhouse.
d. Pull locking plate of the plug connection (X26/25) forward.
e. Unplug the plug connection (X26/25).
f. Connect adapter cable (07) to pin A1 (arrow) of connector (X26/25)
g. Connect adapter cable (07) to remote starter button
3. Crank engine
- To do this, press contact switch of compression tester
- Do not crank engine from steering lock.
4. Install in the reverse order
- Read fault memory with Hand Held Tester (HHT), if necessary
