Replace Front Shock, Models With Adaptive Damping System (ADS)









REMOVAL

NOTE: The vehicle must be on its wheels for removing the upper shock absorber attachment

1. Detach upper shock absorber attachment
- Counterhold piston rod with suitable Allen wrench (WAF5).
2. Detach upper shock absorber attachment with anti-twist lock
- Steady at piston rod

NOTE:
^ Turn shock absorber for Adaptive Damping System (ADS) so that the damper valve paints outwards
^ The damper valve must NOT contact the spring dome
- Observe removal and installation position or shock absorber/ADS
3. Lift vehicle
4. Disconnect electrical cable at valve connector
- Pay attention to correct routing of electrical cable
5. Detach shock absorber/ADS at wishbone, remove downwards
6. Check shock absorber, rubber gaiter and shock absorber mount or rubber mount for damage and cracks

INSTALLATION
- Install in reverse sequence, noting the following:
- Replace self locking nuts when installing
- Ensure adequate clearance between the damper valve and upper wishbone
- Install clip on the damper valve and clip on electrical cable
- Tighten the following components as noted:
- Self-locking nut of shock absorber/ADS on front end: 40 Nm
- Self-locking nut of shock absorber/ADS on wishbone: 100 Nm
