Door liner removed
Vapor seal on inner door panel removed
Gap and transitions at driver's door checked and adjusted
Inner sealing rail removed
Exterior panel on front door removed
Rear side window
open completely.
Crank window in front door
open.
Rear closing wedge (6)
loosen (3 screws).
Both top stop brackets (arrows)
loosen.
Height stop on window lift mechanism
loosen (inner Torx T30).
Crank window
close until front of window moves into window guide rail on mirror triangle.
Crank window
adjust so it is centered and parallel to door shaft (distance to inner door panel approx. 10 mm).
Correct
with adjustment screws on bottom bearing brackets for the two guide rails.
Additional adjustment possibility
on top mounting screw for rear guide rail (oblong hole in inner door panel).
Inclination and longitudinal direction of window
adjust by loosening screw on rear window lift arm (inner Torx attachment T40).
Front door and crank window
close.
Crank window
press from outside forward and up into sealing frame, then tighten screws on rear window lift arm through top assembly hole (arrow) without opening front door.
NOTE: The outer top edge of the glass should contact the outer rubber lip on the sealing frame over the entire length.
Height stop on window lift
adjustment and tighten (inner Torx T30).
Both top stop brackets (arrows)
move against guide jaws and tighten.
Lateral tension of window against sealing frame
adjust.
Correct
with adjustment screw on bottom bearing brackets for front and rear guide rails.
NOTE: If the adjustment on the bearing brackets for the guide rails is not sufficient to achieve the required lateral tension, it is also possible to adjust the guide jaws.
Moving the guide jaws upward increases the tension, moving them down reduces the tension. When the tension is adjusted correctly the inner top edge of the glass contacts the sealing frame uniformly over the entire length when the front door is completely closed.
Crank window
close.
Closing wedge (6)
adjust so that rear edge of glass touches closing wedge and makes contact at side.
Inner sealing rail (2)
install.
Depth stop on window lift mechanism
adjust (inner Torx T30). The outer edge of the glass should extend approx. 1-2 mm above the rubber lip of the outer sealing rail in the rear area.
Then adjust
bottom stop on window lift rail by loosening screw (arrow, inner Torx T30), moving stop bracket up to the inner door panel leaving a gap of approx. 1 mm and tightening.
Front door and crank window
close.
Rear side window
close.
Fit and seal on rear window web
check, adjust.
NOTE:
The rear window web
can be adjusted in the longitudinal direction by pulling off the inner cover toward the rear, loosening the screws (Allen screws, 2.5 mm, 3 each) and adjusting so that the rear window web is parallel to the crank window.
After adjusting
grease front and rear guide rails as well as slider in window lift rail with MB lubricating paste, part no. 000 989 31 51.
