Installing In-Dash Controller (IDC)1. Unpack contents of installation kit and compare to parts list at end of work instructions. Read through entire work instruction procedure to familiarize yourself with sequence of instructions and parts. Remove Owner's Operating Guide from kit and place in Owner's Literature pouch.
2. Disconnect and cover negative battery terminal.
3. Remove eye glass compartment.
Note: Model 140 only. Remove two foam blocks from top of eyeglass compartment and one block from rear of compartment, partially covering the recessed opening (if installed).
4. Carefully cut out the recessed opening on the back of the eye glass compartment (Arrow, Fig. 1). Use caution when cutting so as not to damage the compartment liner. Cut liner inside compartment with utility knife. File down any sharp plastic edges.
5. Place template on top of eye glass compartment (a, Fig. 2).
6. Locate, punch and drill 5 mm holes according to template.
7. Countersink holes using 8.5 mm drill.
8. Place controller bracket in eyeglass compartment. Insert two flat head screws through top of eyeglass compartment, finger tighten square nuts (Fig. 3).
9. Install large reflector on bottom of eyeglass compartment with white section on right side. Align front edge of reflector with the inside curved edge of eyeglass compartment.
10. Install solid white reflector on the right inside of the compartment lid. Place reflector 30 mm from right edge of lid. Align front edge of reflector with inside curved edge of lid. Ensure that front edge of reflector is not visible and properly recessed.
11. Slide in-dash controller into bracket and snap into place - DO NOT PRESS ON THE LCD DISPLAY. Center controller and then tighten two flat head screws.
12. Insert removal tool (b, Fig. 4) into two slots on top of DC, push down on the top front of the tool and then pull on tool to remove IDC.
13. Attach two self-adhesive retainer clips to rear of in-dash controller with the open end facing up (Fig. 5).
14. Guide wires for in-dash controller through round opening in back of eye glass compartment.
Note: Model 140 Only. Guide two in-dash controller cables to the top right inside of the compartment. Secure cables to top right inside corner of compartment opening using metal clip, slide clip towards you to engage.
15. Reinstall eye glass compartment with controller bracket. Remove protective covers from ends of controller cables and attach to in-dash controller. Secure left cable to clips on back of DC. Slide in-dash controller into bracket and snap into place - DO NOT PRESS ON THE LCD DISPLAY.
