Rear Door Latch: Service and Repair

Removal and installation of door lock on rear door

Removal

1 Remove door handle outside complete with bearing bracket. Service and Repair
2 Remove door inside actuation with locking linkage. Service and Repair




3 Unscrew screws on door lock.
4 Remove door lock on upper door opening.


Installation




5 Insert door lock.
6 First tighten the two fastening screws on face side, then those on door inside panel to 8 Nm.
7 For further installation proceed vice versa.





Note: When opening grab handle, make sure that the grab handle is at rest behind actuating lever of door lock.




8 First tighten the two fastening screws on face side, then those on door inside panel to 8 Nm.




9 Insert lock cylinder together with rotating rod into rotating socket on door lock and fasten.




10 Remove cover on face side of door in area of door lock.
11 Adjust poppet clearance between actuating lever for door lock and grab handle with phillips screwdriver on eccentric bolt.

Note: Poppet clearance should be 0-1 mm.




12 Continue to reinstall in opposite order.
