Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

SINGLE OVERHEAD CAM ENGINE

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove fuel tank filler cap to relieve excess fuel pressure.
2. Remove plastic shroud covering fuel filler and pump.
3. Pinch off fuel suction line with a suitable clamp.
4. Disconnect fuel lines and electrical connector from fuel pump.
5. Loosen fuel pump attaching screws and the fuel pump.
6. Reverse procedure to install.

DUAL OVERHEAD ENGINE

The fuel pump and fuel filter assembly is located on the left hand side of the vehicle to the front of the rear axle on the frame. When servicing the fuel pump, disconnect battery ground cable.
