Inserting the Valve Guide
1. Cool the valve guides in liquid nitrogen for approximately 3 minutes.
NOTE: If liquid nitrogen is not available, heat the cylinder head in a water bath to approximately 80~C (1760 F) while cooling the valve guide with dry ice or in a freezer, 2. Coat the new valve guide with engine oil and attach to the appropriate installation drift (see Table 2).
3. Place the valve guide into the cylinder head bore and insert to the stop.
4. Check the valve guide bore with the proper gauge. If the "go" side of the gauge (0) cannot be inserted for the entire length of the bore, clean out the bore using the proper size reamer (see Table 2).
