Programmed Repairs (Symptom Based Repairs)

Complaint:
Engine damages through counter-nuts gotten loose.

Cause/Remedy:
Check all counter-nuts for tight seat when adjusting valves. Adjustments


Complaint:
Performance dropping with the engine at operating temperature and under full load

Cause/Remedy:
Valve clearance too narrow.

Check and adjust valve clearance. Adjustments


Complaint:
Engine shaking at idle after valve adjustment

Cause/Remedy:
On engines with higher running performance, make sure, when adjusting valve clearance, that the valves are not twisted since the rotocaps partly have settled down and do not turn any more.
