Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair

HOOD RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the following parts:
a. Side turn lights Side Turn Light Removal/Installation

b. Front bumper Front Bumper Removal/Installation

c. Front combination lights Service and Repair

d. Side step molding

e. Front fender molding Cowl Grille Removal/Installation

f. Front mudguard Service and Repair

g. Front fender panel Service and Repair

3. Remove the hood release cable from clips A.

4. Remove the clips B.

5. Remove the hood release cable from clips C.

6. Disconnect the hood latch from the hood release cable.

7. Remove the grommet.

8. Remove the hood release cable from outside of the vehicle.






9. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Grommet Removal Note

1. Remove the grommet in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure while pressing the grommet tabs in the direction of the arrow (1).
