Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection
OIL PRESSURE SWITCH INSPECTION [FS5A-EL]
CAUTION:
- Do not allow foreign material or water to penetrate the connector. Otherwise, it could cause poor contact and corrosion.
On-Vehicle Inspection Preparation
1. When performing the on-vehicle inspection, set the oil cooler out of the way.
a. Disconnect the oil cooler from the transaxle. Removal and Replacement
NOTE:
- Do not disconnect the oil hose and water hose from the oil cooler and transaxle because the engine is started when performing the on-vehicle inspection.
b. Suspend the oil cooler using rope to secure the disconnected oil cooler.
CAUTION:
- To prevent damage to the parts, do not pull the oil hose and water hose excessively.
- To prevent damage to the parts, do not twist the oil hose and water hose.
- To prevent part damage, do not allow parts to interfere with the cooling fan.
On-Vehicle Inspection
1. Remove the aerodynamic under cover. Service and Repair
2. Prepare for the on-vehicle inspection.
3. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.
4. Start the engine.
5. Measure continuity between oil pressure switch terminal A and GND.
- If there is any malfunction, replace the oil pressure switch. Service and Repair
Oil pressure switch continuity
Part Inspection
1. Apply air pressure of 400-440 kPa {4.08-4.48 kgf/cm2, 58.1-63.8 psi} to the oil pressure switch as shown in the figure.
2. Measure continuity between oil pressure switch terminal A and the thread area.
- If there is any malfunction, replace the oil pressure switch.
