SOLENOID VALVE INSPECTION [FS5A-EL]

CAUTION:
- Do not allow foreign material or water to penetrate the connector. Otherwise, it could cause poor contact and corrosion.

Primary Control Valve Body

On-vehicle inspection

1. Disconnect the coupler component connector.
a. Remove the battery cover. Removal and Replacement

b. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

c. Remove the air cleaner component. Service and Repair

d. Disconnect the coupler component connector.

2. Measure the solenoid valve resistance.

- If there is any malfunction, inspect the coupler component continuity.
- If there is any malfunction in the coupler component, inspect the solenoid valves individually.

Solenoid valve resistance

Operation inspection

CAUTION:
- Do not apply voltage to a solenoid valve for 3 s or more to prevent damaging it.

NOTE:
- Perform the inspection in a quiet place because the operation sound of solenoid valve may be difficult to hear.

1. Disconnect the coupler component connector.
a. Remove the battery cover. Removal and Replacement

b. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

c. Remove the air cleaner component. (See Service and Repair.)

d. Disconnect the coupler component connector.

2. Apply battery voltage between the GND and each terminal of A,B,C,F, and G, and terminals D and I, and verify the solenoid valve operation sound.

- If the operation sound cannot be verified, inspect the coupler component continuity.
- If there is any malfunction in the coupler component, inspect the solenoid valves individually.

Part inspection

1. Measure the solenoid valve resistance.

- If there is any malfunction, replace the solenoid valve.

Pressure control solenoid A resistance
- 2.4-7.3 ohms

Resistance of shift solenoids A, B, and C
- 1.0-4.2 ohms

Resistance of shift solenoids D and E
- 10.9-26.2 ohms

Secondary Control Valve Body

On-vehicle inspection

1. Disconnect the coupler component connector.
a. Remove the battery cover. Removal and Replacement

b. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

c. Remove the battery. Removal and Replacement

d. Remove the battery tray. Removal and Replacement

e. Disconnect the coupler component connector.

2. Measure the solenoid valve resistance.

- If there is any malfunction, inspect the coupler component continuity.
- If there is any malfunction in the coupler component, inspect the solenoid valves individually.
