TCM INSPECTION [FS5A-EL]

CAUTION:
- Do not allow foreign material or water to penetrate the connector. Otherwise, it could cause poor contact and corrosion.

NOTE:
- The TCM terminal voltage can vary depending on conditions when measuring, and deterioration over time of the vehicle which may cause false diagnosis. Therefore, a comprehensive diagnosis must be performed to determine whether the malfunction is occurring in the input system, output system, or the TCM.

1. Connect the negative (-) lead of the tester to the GND.

2. Measure each terminal voltage of the TCM using a tester.

- If output voltage is abnormal even though input voltage is normal, inspect the related system. If the related system is normal, replace the TCM. Service and Repair

Input/turbine speed sensor





- Terminal:
AB (+)-Y (-)
- Oscilloscope setting:
1 V/DIV (Y), 2 ms/DIV (X), DC range
- Measurement condition:
Idling in P position after warming up

VSS





- Terminal:
Z (+)-GND (-)
- Oscilloscope setting:
1 V/DIV (Y), 2 ms/DIV (X), DC range
- Measurement condition:
When all of the following conditions are met:

- Vehicle speed: 30 km/h {19 mph}
- 3GR

Intermediate sensor





- Terminal:
AC (+)-GND (-)
- Oscilloscope setting:
1 V/DIV (Y), 200 microsecond/DIV (X), DC range
- Measurement condition:
When all of the following conditions are met:

- Vehicle speed: 30 km/h {19 mph}
- 3GR

Pressure control solenoid A (+)





- Terminal:
AD (+)-GND (-)
- Oscilloscope setting:
5 V/DIV (Y), 1 ms/DIV (X), DC range
- Measurement condition:
When all of the following conditions are met:

- Ignition switched ON (engine off)
- P position
- Accelerator pedal fully depressed

Pressure control solenoid A (-)





- Terminal:
AE (+)-GND (-)
- Oscilloscope setting:
200 mV/DIV (Y), 1 ms/DIV (X), DC range
- Measurement condition:
When all of the following conditions are met:

- Ignition switched ON (engine off)
- P position
- Accelerator pedal fully depressed

Shift solenoid A





- Terminal:
AG (+)-GND (-)
- Oscilloscope setting:
5 V/DIV (Y), 5 ms/DIV (X), DC range
- Measurement condition:
D position driving in 4GR

Shift solenoid B





- Terminal:
AJ (+)-GND (-)
- Oscilloscope setting:
5 V/DIV (Y), 5 ms/DIV (X), DC range
- Measurement condition:
D position driving in 1GR

Shift solenoid C





- Terminal:
AL (+)-GND (-)
- Oscilloscope setting:
5 V/DIV (Y), 5 ms/DIV (X), DC range
- Measurement condition:
D position driving in 1GR
