FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNING:
- Handling a front seat (with built-in side air bag) improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings before handling a front seat (with built-in side air bag). Air Bag System Service Warnings

CAUTION:
- After removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. If the slider lever is operated, the left and right slide positions will deviate, and the slide adjuster may be damaged after the front seat is installed.
- Verify that there are no malfunctions in the sliding mechanism after installing a front seat.
- When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean rag so as not to damage or soil the seat.
- If any of the following work is performed, perform the seat weight sensor calibration using the M-MDS. (See Programming and Relearning)

- Replacement with a new seat weight sensor
- Replacement with a new seat weight sensor control module
- Replacement with new passenger-side seat parts
- Disassembly of the passenger-side seat

- If any of the following work is performed, perform the seat weight sensor inspection using the M-MDS. (See Component Tests and General Diagnostics)

- Removal of the passenger-side seat
- Loosening and retightening of passenger-side seat fixing bolts

NOTE:
- When removing the front seat out of the vehicle or putting it back in, it can be performed smoothly by removing the headrest.

1. Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).

2. Remove the battery cover. Removal and Replacement

3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min or more.

4. Remove the front seat belt anchor cover. (passenger-side only) Front Seat Belt Removal/Installation

5. Remove the front seat belt lower anchor installation bolt. (passenger-side only) Front Seat Belt Removal/Installation

6. Press the connector tab A in the direction of arrow, then pull out the connector lock in the direction of arrow and disconnect the connector.






7. Detach the hook A, B and C in the direction of arrow shown in the figure, and remove the cover.

8. Remove the bolts in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4) shown in the figure, then take the front seat out from the opened front door.






9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
