Rear Planetary Gear Disassembly

REAR PLANETARY GEAR DISASSEMBLY

Disassembly Procedure
1. Perform the following inspection:

CAUTION:
- If there is no malfunction based on the results of the inspection, it is not necessary to disassemble the rear planetary gear.
- Visual inspection of parts (See VISUAL INSPECTION OF PARTS)
- Rear planetary gear inspection (See REAR PLANETARY GEAR INSPECTION)
- If there is a malfunction, disassemble the rear planetary gear and replace the malfunctioning part with a new part.







2. Remove the snap ring.






NOTE: When removing the snap ring, insert a precision flathead screwdriver into the position (between front internal gear and snap ring brim) shown in the figure and the snap ring can be easily removed by prying the snap ring brim.






3. Remove the rear planetary carrier.
4. Clean the disassembled parts. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE CLEANING.)
