Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]
WARNING:
- When the engine is hot, it can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the ECT sensor.
ECT Sensor No.1
1. Remove the battery cover. Removal and Replacement
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Removal and Replacement
3. Remove the plug hole plate. Plug Hole Plate Removal/Installation
4. Drain the engine coolant. Service and Repair
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Service and Repair
6. Disconnect the ECT sensor No.1 connector.
7. Remove the ECT sensor No.1 using the SST.
8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
9. Refill the engine coolant. Service and Repair
ECT Sensor No.2
1. Remove the battery cover. Removal and Replacement
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Removal and Replacement
3. Remove the plug hole plate. Plug Hole Plate Removal/Installation
4. Drain the engine coolant. Service and Repair
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Service and Repair
6. Remove the battery tray and PCM component. Removal and Replacement
7. Disconnect the short cord connector of ECT sensor No.2.
8. Set the PCM harness protector aside. Removal and Replacement
9. Remove the bolts from the bracket.
10. Lift up the bracket.
11. Disconnect the ECT sensor No.2 connector.
12. Remove the ECT sensor No.2 and water pipe from the bracket.
13. Remove the ECT sensor No.2 from the water pipe.
14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
15. Refill the engine coolant. Service and Repair
