CAUTION:
- While driving the vehicle for perform troubleshooting procedure, always operate the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner.
- When the M-MDS is used to observe monitor system status while driving, be sure to have another technician with you, or record the data in the M-MDS using the PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD capturing function and inspect later.

- When the customer reports a vehicle malfunction, inspect the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illumination, AT warning indicator light illumination, and diagnostic trouble code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction according to following flowchart.

- If a DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC inspection. Automatic Transmission/Transaxle - DTC Table
- If a DTC does not exist, the MIL does not illuminate and the AT warning indicator light illuminate, diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting. Symptom Troubleshooting Item Table
