Pressure Regulating Solenoid: Testing and Inspection
LINE PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID INSPECTION [AY6A-EL]
CAUTION:
- Water or foreign objects entering the connector can cause a poor connection or corrosion. Be sure not to drop water or foreign objects on the connector when disconnecting it.
- Do not damage the terminals.
On-Vehicle Inspection
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the fresh-air duct and air cleaner component as a single unit. Service and Repair
3. Remove the TCM. Service and Repair
4. Measure the resistance between coupler component terminals B1 and B3.
- If there is any malfunction, inspect the coupler component for continuity. Testing and Inspection
- If coupler component has no malfunction, perform the "Off-vehicle inspection".

Operation inspection
CAUTION:
- Do not apply battery positive voltage to terminals for more than 3 s.
NOTE:
- Because the operation sound of the line pressure control solenoid is small, perform inspection in a quiet place.
1. Connect the positive battery terminal to terminal B of line pressure control solenoid via the 12-21 W bulb and connect the negative battery terminal to terminal A of line pressure control solenoid.
CAUTION:
- Do not apply impact to line pressure control solenoid.
- Do not damage the terminals.
2. Verify that operating sound is heard from the line pressure control solenoid.
- If there is any malfunction, replace the control valve body.
